2.  What do we do?

In addition to our commitment to looking after the overall environment of the Parish through our work keeping the streets swept, emptying the litter bins, keeping footpaths clear, providing streetlighting, maintaining the children’s playground, open spaces and car parks, etc, our role is to make decisions on behalf of people in the Parish, so we welcome feedback and comment.   You can attend our monthly meetings if you wish. These are usually held on the first Tuesday of the month, and are advertised in advance both here on our website and in Roseland magazine.

We also liaise with Cornwall Council on matters that are in their remit.  It is not always easy to know who to approach if you wish to raise a concern but our Parish Clerk can point you in the right direction.

As a Parish Council, we have very limited powers of enforcement on problem issues. Most of the authority lies with Cornwall Council.  We often get questions about matters than can easily be reported directly to them at https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/report-something/ This service deals with a wide range of things such as anti-social behaviour, breach of planning, dog fouling, flooding, fly-tipping, food safety, litter, parking, potholes or other highway problems.

By reporting issues direct to Cornwall Council, you will receive confirmation that the report has been received, then a follow-up email about what the Council is going to do about it. In the event that matters remain unresolved, your ward member, Councillor Julian German, can be contacted by email at cllr.julian.german@cornwall.gov.uk and will provide any further assistance he can.
